GoHighLevel for Home Services: A Lead Follow-Up & Sales Pipeline Case Study

Connecting enquiries, personal sales calls, automated follow-up, and service purchases.

For a business offering seasonal decorating and home maintenance, I connected the enquiry form, sales pipeline, email and SMS follow-up, and GoHighLevel checkout.

The conversation continues

“I’ll get back to you.” What happens next?

The business handles the call. Email and SMS support the follow-up. A purchase brings that sales sequence to an end.

01 / The requirement

Keep track of the steps between enquiry and purchase.

A customer enquiring about Christmas decorations may want to discuss dates. Someone asking about gardening or tile cleaning may need a quote before deciding. Both need a clear next step.

The client’s process involved enquiries, direct calls, scheduled conversations, quote requests, and purchases. The system needed to support that process and follow up with prospects who had spoken to the business but had not purchased.

The focus: connect the team’s personal conversations to a consistent follow-up process and an automatically updated opportunity pipeline.

02 / The implementation

What I connected.

01

Enquiry capture

Form submissions created leads in GoHighLevel. The business contacted those prospects directly to discuss their requirements.

02

Opportunity pipeline

I set up the pipeline and automated updates around configured customer events, including call scheduling and purchases.

03

Post-call follow-up

Email and SMS continued the conversation when prospects needed more time after speaking with the business.

04

Purchase-connected exit

A successful purchase through GoHighLevel checkout updated the opportunity and stopped sales follow-up.

04 / After the call

Follow up while the customer considers the service.

Some prospects needed time to decide after speaking with the business. The configured post-call process supported those conversations with email and SMS, keeping the next step available while they considered the service.

05 / Events & actions

A purchase changes both the status and the communication.

Event or condition System response
Form submitted A lead enters GoHighLevel; the business contacts the prospect.
Call scheduled The booking event triggers an automatic opportunity update.
Quote requested The enquiry follows the business’s quote process. No automatic quote generation is claimed.
Prospect needs more time after a call The configured process continues follow-up through email and SMS.
Service purchased through checkout The opportunity updates automatically and sales follow-up stops.

06 / A practical example

A decorating enquiry that needs a second conversation.

Imagine a customer submits an enquiry about Christmas decorations. The business calls to discuss their requirements. The customer is interested but needs more time before deciding.

The post-call email and SMS process continues the conversation. When the customer purchases through GoHighLevel checkout, the opportunity updates and the sales follow-up ends.

The system connects the customer’s purchase to their communication status, so they leave the pre-purchase sequence once they have bought.

07 / DELIVERED OUTCOME

A connected sales process around the team’s calls.

The implementation connected customer actions to the CRM and follow-up process. Revenue increases, conversion improvements, and time savings have not been measured for this case study.

08 / The practical takeaway

Automation supports the conversation.

The team remained responsible for discussing the customer’s requirements. The workflows supported what happened around those conversations: tracking the opportunity, following up, and recognising a purchase.

A useful sales system needs a clear stopping point as well as a starting point. Here, checkout connected the purchase to the end of sales follow-up.
